BackpackersUltimateGuide
I was flipping through an old travel mag today and saw this site mentioned. Just took a quick peek. Covers three regions: Europe, Oz and NZ/Pacific. Has some good info: hostel reviews, transport options (even a rideshare message board), short-term work requirements, etc.

I used BUG while backpacking around OZ/NZ and Fiji. I even left some feedback for places I stayed at.
