Best way to play the following miles for India, mideast, SEA
I have:
55k UA
20k AA
10k Lufthansa (considering the magazine deal for another 9k though ($100ish) and easy to get another 1k)
And the ability to suffer through economy minus class on any transport
Not sure if I will get any more miles before returning to US so let's not count on it for now. If only my credit history was as extensive as my knowledge of how to (ab)use miles....
I had wanted to head back to the US on my budget backpacking trip thusly:
40k UA miles
India-Israel-Malta-"India" (cough, Egypt)
Budget flight Egypt to Europe
20k AA to US
But then I HAD to go book that Bali points breaks for a week
So now I came up with following interesting variation:
India-Israel-Egypt-"India" (cough, BKK)
Visit friend in Thailand, then budget flight to Indonesia
Budget flight to Australia
Roadtrip on $1/day rental (Apollo RV relocation etc)
20k Lufthansa (using NZ, since only ~$30 surcharge, right?) Australia-HNL
Random miles or budget flight to US
This is super cool but then I wouldn't be going to Spain, where I've a friend that will let me crash while taking €40 class at IH Barcelona http://www.ihes.com/bcn/formacion/ele/free_spanish.html
I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to play these miles or budget flight suggestions to go to Europe after visiting SEA or Australia. Been playing with skyscanner but haven't found anything good yet.
Please help an ultra-budget flashpacker or whatever I am.
