Fastbreak Choice Question
I've never rented with Budget, so couple of questions. I signed up for Fastbreak. I'm picking up in SAN and dropping off in LAX. Both locations have Fastbreak choice. So since this is my first time, will I have to stop at the counter in SAN and sign a contract or will I be able to go directly to the car? Thanks

If your reservation is for Fastbreak then you go straight to the car. The paperwork is done at the exit booth from the car lot. Very fast. At LAX there are huge queues for regular rentals, it takes 30-60 minutes to pick up a car most of the time, with Fastbreak it is 1 minute, and the nicer cars seem to be put into the Fastbreak lot.
A few small Budget locations offer Fastbreak but in a pseudo-version: you have to do it at the rental counter; but I've only seen this in smaller cities, definitely not at LAX and I cannot imagine that SAN would be like that. Best to phone the 800 number to verify that you are reserved as Fastbreak and what the pickup procedure is at the renting location.

SAN FastBreak location is one of the worst I have encountered at a major airport. Poor service and crappy cars. No real choice. They just hand you some keys at a kiosk when you get off of the bus.

I am picking up in FLL this weekend. It claims to have Choice service, but last time I was there (which was my first Fast Break Rental) it appeared I had to wait in a special line first and get a contract.
Am i missing something? Can I just go to some area, choose a car, and go?
thanks,
rich
