Budget Website Error.

Hi all

Two months ago I reserved a Caddilac CTS (premium sport class) for a 9-day trip to San Diego. I got it for $229 including taxes and fees, which I thought was a great deal. Well today I went out to their website just to see what the price was at now. It shows that the premium sport class is not available at that location.

I called them to find out what was going on and the first guy (in reservations i think) was completely confused as to how I was able to book that car and said he'd xfer me to Customer service so they could fix it and provide lower rates on whatever they changed it to. Customer service looked up the reservation and was just as confused as the first guy, she decided to call the rental location and ask them if they had this car. After getting somebody to answer at the location, the customer service person bails, so I am left explaining my story for a 3rd time.

The third time unfortunately was not the charm as this person had trouble telling me anything other than "we don't have this car". After I was finally able to explain that I understood that they didn't have it and that I just wanted to know what car I would end up with, she asked her manager and came back with the answer of "any of our other Luxury cars".

My question for those of you familiar with Budget, am I likely to get a Luxury car given my reservation price is much below the going luxury car rate? Also what are some other cars in their premium and luxury classes (other than G. Marquis and L Town Car). I plan on getting a back-up reservation just in case.

Thanks in advance!!

Looks like they screwed up big deal, I would expect a nice upgrade irrespective of the price. What would your backup reservation look like? The price sounds very reasonable for this rental period anyway. I would stick with this reservation and insist on a 'reasonable ' alternative, if they are unable to fulfill the original reservation.
