Where are the jags?

I've had a recent craving to drive a jag and will probably do it the next time I need to rent a car.

The only problem is that Budget seems to only rent them in California. Are there other parts of the country that offer this fine automotive specimen?

I've seen the Jags all over the country at Budget. And even a few here & there at Hertz.

A few years ago I was working in Dallas every week, so I'd rent a car every time I arrived. One Monday afternoon Budget was nearly out of cars and they handed me the keys to a brand-new Jag XJ8 - wow, was it sweet! Sorry to say I took full advantage and kept extending my rental every Friday for a whole month! Cost me a few bucks in parking every weekend while it sat in the parking lot instead of returning it, but to me it was money well spent. ;-)

They had them in DC a few years ago. I don't remember which airport for sure, but I think it was DCA

They have them in Phoenix, too. I kicked out for one just for a day during one of those 24 hour "weekends".

What a sweet ride. Well worth the portion which I paid out of pocket.

So how does one find the availability of these cars? The website seemed to only indicate that airports in California had them. Just call the 800 number and see what they find???

I live up in New England, and the thought of renting a jag and cruising round the fall foliage for a day sounds very appealing.

What models do they carry?
I've actually seen an S type parked in the PVD garage, although I'd hope for a convertable xk8.

Give them a call. They have had both the four door and convertible in the various locations that I have seen them offered. If memory serves me correctly, I have seen the Jags at LA, San Diego, Phx and Dallas. Undoubtedly there are other locations, too.

I got an S-type in Seattle for a weekend drive up to Vancouver. Very nice...they gave it to me for $69 a day, which was well worth it. Even though the S-type is the "poor man's Jag" ($45K or so), it was a wonderful ride.

I've also seen them at the Denver airport.

BTW - The worst border crossing on earth can be found between Washington and Canada on the road to Vancouver. I spent a FULL HOUR trying to reenter the USA (I have gone in and out of RUSSIA much, much easier). I have a Missouri license, was driving a rented Jag with California tags, and was crossing a border into Washington. I thought for sure the border guard was going to chuck me in jail just for that. People don't think of Jaguars as rental cars.
