No evidence, just cynicism.

But in general terms I consider that buying miles at this price for some future undefined redemption is a bad investment.

You'd hope when they're pissing off pissing off elite memebrs left, right and centre, the last thing they'd do would be devalue their miles, esp when premium cabins aren't full!
