If someone had shown me that in the days of Concorde, and told me, "this is the next BA 1/2/3/4," I'd have thought they were making some kind of strange joke.

But desperate times do call for desperate measures, and I wish the best for the new BAby...

I must admit that my first - admittedly ignorant - reaction to the notion of 318 on a TATL was "are they taking oars with them just in case"

Indeed they will be... In the survival packs... So, not a bad notion really...

KLM/AF (operated by Privatair) run a 737 from AMS to IAH which is excellent. I hope it will be equal if not better onboard.

Well, perhaps some of you have missed the tiny fact that not many E170s, 737s, DC9s, Dash-8s etc., arrived on this side of the pond by boat.

Or on a low-loader.

Or by train.

The big flat bits that stick out of the sides aren't there just to keep the refuellers dry, you know......

No they also keep the loaders dry as well

Seriously though, it doesn't look like it would make a LON-MAN hop let alone the JFK run. Bigger is most definately better in this case.
