So whats happened to The UK Governments Green Policy that we are all told the additional APD is to support.

Virtually ALL Virgin Aircraft use 30% more fuel than a BA 777.

Anyhow guess its better for Britain that any potential Dividends on Profits go to Singapore or Luxembourg than the UK.

Actually it was almost worthy of a TFTG. I think that they had been poncing (as HI rudely puts it) off Cliff Richard (probably attending a has-beens convention for all I know). One day we will have to run a sort of opposite MUCCIhood award.

The DYKWIA. They can be first. Par Excellence.

The British Government Green? At the risk of being OMNI, may I say that yellow would be a far more appropriate colour.

Red face under the beard?

Wonder if this has anything to do with the embarrassing photo last year of SRB & GB in discussion on a BA aircraft, IIRC flying to Bejiing for the Olympics

Well he sure likes to give the impression he takes the train for these trips. I've seen numerous photos of him sitting on what looks like NXEC.

If the environment was the real reason for these tax increases then surely he should be setting an example and be using the train all the time.

Would make sense with the current reported state of the market.

Well the Head of State

flies BA does she not? So the fact that the PM (who is just doing a temp job)

has decided not to fly on the most ecologically sound aircraft, shouldn't cause too much fuss.

No wait I've got it Sir Beardy may have been doing this for a reason, he wants some serious one to one time with GB to try and put the boot in the AA/BA tie up.

Good one.

In my firm, temps only get to fly discounted economy on longhaul.

Subsequent press reports suggest that this deal with VS is just for a one-off trip rather than an ongoing arrangement.

Gosh, whatever next.
