Never ever would I turn down an upgrade unless it moved me from Him Indoors. He turned down one to stay with me - we were in CW some years ago coming back from LAX, The Oscars used to be in March back then and we could not get into F.
At the gate they called HI and upped him. He declined for me. I told him to go ahead and made him do it. As it so happened the CSD was not one of BA's finest and the service was stretched. She was star struck and kept refering to celebrities by their first names as though she was part of their entourage, sily pretentious woman. I was a humble Purser back then. I spent most of the flight in the F galley helping the crew keep uniform in the cabin and an eye on what His Lordship was drinking!
On other cAArriers I have been op-upped and never declined. I do tell the crew - FWIW discretely that I am happy to have whatever meal choice is left as I am there through the airline's generosity. They have always said - no problem you have whagtever you like.

Middle seats, not next to windows... All A+K are window seats.
Sorry I wasn’t more clear with my question
What I was trying to ask, was…......
Are there any F window seats A’s or K’s without windows ?
Much in the way as some CW seats have blanks instead of windows.

Hi Kered,
IIRC all F window seats have windows ( Row 1 on the 777 may only have 2 windows rather than 3 for the other rows!- Ahh. The hardship of F travel!)

If I was traveling with Mrs ATCO 2 and turned down an upgrade to F for both of us I would be divorced/dead before you could print a boarding card

We're a funny lot even to debate this.
In 20+ sectors in F on a 744, I've only not managed my favoured 2K once, when I bought my way up onboard from LAX a couple of years ago. I'd been turfed out of 62K ( as a gold) by the seat shifters and and I was feeling a little cranky.
The CSD showed me to 5A. At first, I was a bit disheartened.
But then I got over myself. F is better. It's F. Yes, some seats are better than others, but really when you're in them there's not really much to differentiate.
F every time.

I thikn each to their own. If all you want to do is sleep and you have a good CW seat then is it really worth changing?Would that be just so you can tell your friends you flew F?
I got upgraded in a hotel last week to a room which I liked far less than the one I had booked. I wasnt really offered the upgrade rather than given it, as my room had already been given to someone else despite them confirming my booking for that particular room. Suffice to say my stay at for the night cost me nothing so ended quite well for me. But I think the lesson the hotel learned is that what they considered a better room, wasnt for me and I wanted what I had specifically booked. Customers wont always necessarily be overjoyed at being offered what you consider a better product as it my not suit them indivudually.
