The space between these seats is wider that those behind - so if you want 2 in extra width and the legroom of the exit these could be the best seats on the aircraft in economy config.
Also don't forget that the front rows will be blocked out for golds!

Not in ET in my experience. Looking at a (short-haul) 767 flight I'm on end of May, rows 5 (just behind the curtain) to 14 are blocked in MMB. I'm expecting those only to open up 3 days before the flight. Reason they are blocked is to allow to move the curtain.

Though strangely enough I remember I did have a choice of a seat right behind the curtain some time ago (not flying ET that often ). Wonder if that was just a few days before the flight.

It would seem that I am on an A321 (in ET) next weekend for the first time. 8A seems to be the best seat, as it has lots of legroom, but can anyone advise if it's got a window too? I'm one of those who likes to look out of it, rather than at a piece of beige plastic.

8E and 8F are still the widthe of the old Converted CE seats because these two are not convertible. If the CE cabin extends back as far as row 8 then 8F is probably the only seat on the narrow body shorthaul fleet that is as wide as when they used the conversion mechanism. But as BingbongBoy pointed out in another thread as they have the tables built into the arm it reduces the feeling of width.

OK, so I've just moved up to 8F. Are you saying that these are different seats, or are permanently in the old expanded CE config even when the aircraft is in ET configuration?

Permanently expanded. They were never convertible so were built in the CE width.

Obviously if that row is in CE they'll leave 8E empty and stick one of their silly headrest covers on it.

Hi Guys and Gals...

There is indeed an online seat map of the A321, and indeed all BA Mainline Airbus Short Haul aircraft...

BA Airbus A321 - Domestic

OH BUT LOOK HOW WRONG the Euro Seat Map is. They have the CE seats wider than the ET seats (they aren't any more) - and they still have the ET seats in the row behind CE with the B seat blocked. At least they are correct with the middle seat being blocked.

Indeed... I spotted that before I went away on my trip, which I am back from now... and just sent them a message to correct the seat maps... They usually get them done in a few days.

Yes there is a window. Might only be half a window, but you can see out.
