Not in ET in my experience. Looking at a (short-haul) 767 flight I'm on end of May, rows 5 (just behind the curtain) to 14 are blocked in MMB. I'm expecting those only to open up 3 days before the flight. Reason they are blocked is to allow to move the curtain.

Though strangely enough I remember I did have a choice of a seat right behind the curtain some time ago (not flying ET that often

). Wonder if that was just a few days before the flight.
