Ex THR fares

I'm sure you are all aware but for those who aren't, there are some great fares on BA Ex THR to JFK. D 1 way is £545 and F £963. Quite useful for those who are coming back from Middle East.

And for those that had to look it up. it's Tehran. I think I'll give that a miss.

As Bmed dodgy destinations go - and most of them are pretty dodgy - that has to be one of the dodgiest.

Is there a lot of traffic from THR to JFK??

Can't really think of anything besides traffic to the UN...

Why ? Surely it'll be much the same as somewhere like TIP ?

Yes it's not ideal. but the new airport is fine and the transit facilities are fine. 1600 return to JFK in F....not bad. That is consistent with fares from another place we all know.i.e. TIP

I was just about to make some witty comment about your mis-spelling of 'look it up' - looked suspiciously like 'lokk it up' to me - when you went and corrected yourself.

Actually lock it up probably wasn't too wide of the mark.

Does anyone else besides me think that given the current level of paranoia shown by US immigration, flying to the US from Iran of all places might not be such a bright idea?

How about F fares to other destinations ?

The FCO only recommend against all travel to certain parts of Iran - not THR as far as I can see:

I would sooner fly BMed to Khartoum and stick my head up a camel's bum.

Funnily enough, the Iran Tourism and Touring Organisation site is empty.

And here's Santa Claus, now appearing at Teheran branch of BHS.

They'd hang you in Iran for that.

No fares for Asia (unsurprisingly the backtracking likely on a BA routing).

EZE caught my eye in the 1700 range IIRC.

FWIW watch trip reports in about October next year for a trip to THR in a slightly less orthodox way....

Gaaah. I was just about to go to lunch, but I think I'll hold off on that until that image leaves my mind.
