LHR delays today (19/3)?
Sat on tarmac awaiting domestic departure to LHR - just advised by flight deck restrictions at LHR mean departure slot pushed back 1hr plus. Unclear if weather - apparently down to single runway operation. Anyone else affected or have info? Thanks

Emergency inbound traffic has blocked one runway as they have lost the ability to steer. Being towed off and a runway inspection carried out prior to ATC having the runway handed back to them.

Apologies - just seen posting at the same time in FAQ thread stating the below that seems to explain runway restriction this am.
ATC update
Morning Operational update
07:51 19 Mar
Landing RWY: 27L
Airborne holding (mins): 45 mins peak
Departure RWY: 27R
TSAT delay average (mins): 0
Network: EGLLTC 43/60 0630-1100 due weather
Inbound emergency traffic landing 27L ETA 0836 will block the RWY briefly due nosewheel steering issue.
Routine RWY insp will be carried out at the same time.

Thanks - won’t affect me as not connecting but assume for anyone missing flights and delayed ++ as result this would not be eligible for UK261

No, they wouldn’t as it is out of BA’s hands. Down to HAL and ATC to manage this one and just part one of those things that happens from time to time.
