Is your BAEC number definitely on the booking?

Was it a late booking? Maybe you're being upgraded.

Do you have a ticket number showing in the app, it will start 125- something like so:

It's under "View and Manage More Flight Details"

Another thing to try is check if your Frequent Flyer number has dropped off the booking at the back end, even if it's still showing in the app. I believe it has to be present in Amadeus booking system for the free seating to work.

You could try checking/removing/re-adding it using the MMB of another carrier that uses Amadeus and exposes that detail. I think Finnair and Royal Jordanian are two frequently recommended ones. They sound be able to display your booking with the 6 character reference.

I see the ticket is issued by Iberia, not sure if that would make any difference, wouldn't think so. (if more knowledgeable people know otherwise, hopefully they will correct)

If re-entering the FF number doesn't work, might need a call

I have sometimes found it takes a couple of days for seat selection to kick in on an 075- ticket, whether on a IB or BA flight, and irrespective of codeshare status.
No pattern to it, and my BAEC number is always present.
There must be another flag that sometimes doesn’t get correctly set in the transfer from IB’s booking system to BA’s.

Interesting, thank you. Unlike some others, I make very few bookings that aren't issued on the stock on the operating carrier, so don't have any significant experience with the various IT foibles that can arise from such things. Of course, if I ever did, I know where to ask!

At least the OP avoided the horror of a middle seat!
