Status Matching [Flying Blue to BAEC?]

Hi all,

Flying Blue golf gold member here, does anyone reckon BA would match me to EC Gold if I asked them? Anyone with experience of doing his?

BA almost never status matches anyone. It does some work with the larger corporate customers, but for individuals, don't waste your time asking.

To the best of my knowledge BA do not status match but if they did then FB gold would be more akin to BA silver in terms of how difficult and expensive it is to obtain,
BA or bust, SKT-DK and DiamondMile like this.

They were quite generous to former Diamond Club members.

just to be clear for those not familiar, this was a particular case where BA acquired another airlines and had to integrate the other Airline FF programme, not a status match as being discussed in this thread

I understand BA now discourages ball games in airports and aircraft and therefore no longer status matches golf club membership.

BA Gold would be equivalent to FB Platinum, so as noted above a status match from FB Gold (if it did ever happen) would be to BA Silver.

Status matches to other Oneworld FFPs come along regularly. I think Royal Jordanian is still offering one.

I know this isn’t what the OP was asking but as by a sheer coincidence FlyingBlue just started offering a status match for BAEC members - as reported in HfPs today.
