1A as a Silver in CE

I just booked a CE flight to IST in May (reward flight). When going to MMB, I've been able to book 1A. Is this a fluke, or within the rules?

Thanks

1A in CE should only be bookable by Gold until T-72

I was assigned 1A at booking as a silver a year ago but it was a mid-day Saturday flight. I really lucked out as I had a blocked seat next to me on an almost full flight. Fingers crossed for you!

Or with luck you could get moved. Horrible seat, only marginally better than 1C

Seat 1Cis dreadful, because most people push their wheeled-cases with their right hand, and everyone bangs into your knees 🙉😫

When I first achieved Gold I was all excited bagging row 1.
Personal preference now is a window further back in the CE cabin. (1) I can store small baggage in between the middle seat and often get a blocked aisle seat. (2) I often had to put luggage in overhead storage behind me in row 1 (3) Ordering special meals always guarantees I get my first choice meal

Well, 1a/c are OUR seats and usually allocated by BA as soon as we book. But we don’t go to IST, so I won’t make a fuss on this occasion.

Not a Gatwick flight is it? A silver friend can select 1A/C on those Gatwick style planes (no seats in 1D/F).

Some friends and I call it the "thumper seat."

On the upside, it has the best reception for Galley FM

Yes happens to my wife who's Silver from time to time. LHR - NUE is always a good candidate.

When I was Silver I was in 1A once and the CSD was all but overcome by uncouthness of it all.

I’ve had at selection and been in 1A as Silver. Albeit I always prefer 1F in CE.
