BA survey ; naming of cabins

Received a survey today outsourced for BA on use of First and Club cabins and what they meant to me.

It was looking at the naming of these cabins and whether we should be attaching the word ‘class’ to them

It was comparing itself with other airlines also ; and what their perceived value was.

They were looking for alternative names for the premium cabins

I was wondering what others thought ?

First Heritage Class
Club Vintage?

Or Hotel and Bistro respectively!

Any other ideas ?

You may wish to rename all 4 cabins!

Oh for goodness sake! There are a LOT more important things that BA should be spending their time and money on at the moment.

If they are going to change them, make them first, business, premium economy, and economy. Otherwise leave them alone. Adding yet another name will only lead to confusion.

Could the money wasted on this be re-invested either on better staff pay and training or on bringing the IT systems up to the standards of the mid 2000's :-)

I'm sure the 40c it cost to put together an e-mail survey would hardly make a dent in the millions that IAG IT need to invest.

If they have outsourced this I suspect it would be rather more than that. But my real poont is that it shows a strange sense of priorities...

BA is a multi-billion pound business and I do not begrudge them having a market research budget. What would concern me is if the scope of this work was to engage with only a narrow section of BA's customer base. Society's view of air travel and 'class' are changing, so it's right that BA should do its homework.
