Stabbing incident on BA flight

Not sure this has been reported elsewhere on the site but awful story here. Well done to the brave crew!

Scary moment BA passenger stabs traveller with broken glass in bloody scenes before crew bravely wrestle him to floor

That's scary. Sounds like the crew did an excellent job.

Thanks. The pictures in the article were bad enough. Scary for the rest of the passengers and crew. Glad there weren't more injuries.

One would hope prison for the guy who attempted to kill someone.

This reinforces why Cabin crew are here "for your safety" first and for service second. Well done to them. It must have been an adrenaline pumping incident to have everybody looking at you and expecting you to jump in to resolve this. Sensible option to allow a female to provide first intervention. Classic pub training where they teach that generally, men are far less likely to be aggressive to a female trying to deescalate matters than if it were a man jumping in. Unusually for a red top rag, it doesn't mention that it was an alcohol fuelled rage which if there was a hint that alcohol played a part, that would be highlighted. This would then lead to the usual calls to ban alcohol in airports and on board and even some calls for breath testing at the gate.

Y class passengers though. Reminds me why I would refuse to travel rather than travel Y.

You would hope so. And I do not imagine that a St. Lucia prison is a very nice place to spend time.

There are some very graphic pictures of this doing the rounds. Well done to my colleagues for dealing with it effectively, and thanks to those customers who assisted them.

You would certainly hope that the accomodation received on St Lucia was somewhat more basic than the one they had booked and with a lot more supervision, that's for sure.

What a horrible experience that must've been. Well done to the crew that managed to de-escalate the situation.

I wondered how many posts we would get to before something as moronic as this would be posted, so well done, take a bow. I would just point out that there have been multiple instances of air rage in premium cabins over the years. That doesn’t suit your narrative though…

I've been in row 1 and in 52D, and the worst pax behavior I've observed was up front.

I’ve seen some very aggressive behaviour in Club World over the years with one incident involving one bloated looking male loudly and persistently demanding that his wife was upgraded to J because he was a Gold card holder. He was escorted off by the Canadian Police following a diversion. When this happens, there is usual a mental health issue in the background which is aggravated by the confined cabin space, whatever the class of travel.
