Flying back on the 21:20 BA268 LAX-LHR tonight. Would it be possible to check-in whilst the the desks are open for the 18:00 BA280 LAX-LHR?

I am on this this same flight on Jan 5th. When would be the earliest possible time to drop a bag at check-in? Not sure how early check-in opens for the earlier flights that day. Any insight would be appreciated.

On the 5th of Jan it looks like the BA flights are
BA282 @1545
BA268 @2120
You should be able to check in once the 282 check in opens ( ie from about 1245 )
