Self upgrader soon get their marching orders

This mornings BA 831 towards the end of boarding our subject walks on and promptly places there bags above 3AC and sits themselves into 1A with the confidence or someone who knew what they were doing. Within 5 minuties the IFL asks to see bording pass can’t find it is the reply they were asked to go to the front galley where they were asked for there name to be checked against the manifest on the iPad low and behold there original seat was somewhere around row 30. It was carried out very professionaly and maybe only 1C and myself actually knew what was happening.

I guess one can use EF to see which seats are free. Still pretty ballsy. I wonder if people actually get away with this on occasion. You’d think the shame of getting booted back once would be enough to scare you off trying it a second time!

In that vein:
mornings s/b morning's
minuties s/b minutes
bording pass s/b boarding pass
low and behold s/b lo and behold

I can understand one or two typos, but this post was very painful to read.

Scarily, I knew instantly which route it was!

Far too many flights back and forth on that route over the years!

On TikTok there are self proclaimed "travel influencers" who basically tell people to do this and to just brazen it out. I think their hot tip is usually "board last and act like it's your seat" and things like that. What a world we live in!

I've had similar brazen attempt when I boarded to find someone sitting in my seat, and they very confidently tried to say it was theirs, they'd already unpacked their belongings, settled in, and suggested to me it would be easier for everyone if I found myself an empty seat further back... I was shocked and confused but stood my ground and glanced over to nearby cabin crew who thankfully noticed the kerfuffle and asked to check boarding passes and sent them on their way! Unfortunately they didn't take their cabin bag back with them.

What rotten behavior.

I feel bad for cabin crew who have to deal with these people.

I also love to see the ones that suggest that you will get an upgrade If you dress nice and ask nicely. Lol

Is this really a thing? You get to your seat and some whatsitcalled tries to dismiss you to the back of the bus because they prefer your seat?
I must confess that I would be apoplectic and would not be happy if this individual was then allowed to continue to travel anywhere within my vicinity.

Edit: Glaswegian’s don’t take being disrespected very well!
