HELP - Covid requirements for USA today
Going tomorrow.
We do not have current full vaccination. We understood it is no longer required.
But are being asked by BA check in for vaccination proof. What is the requirement ?

As of 12:01AM ET on June 12, 2022, CDC will no longer require air passengers traveling from a foreign country to the United States to show a negative COVID-19 viral test or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 before they board their flight. For more information, see Rescission: Requirement for Negative Pre-Departure COVID-19 Test Result or Documentation of Recovery from COVID-19 for all Airline or Other Aircraft Passengers Arriving into the United States from Any Foreign Country.

By my reading, unless you're a US citizen or resident, you can't enter the US unless vaccinated.

Are you USA residents? If you are UK / not legal residents of the USA proof of vaccination is required, with the final dose at least 2 weeks prior to travel. So this means at least vaccine 1 and 2 from the first round of vaccinations, but not necessarily the booster. Or the Janssen single dose vaccine plus 2 weeks. Proof of vaccination is still required. By all means clarify what vaccines you had and when, but if you had 2 jabs in early 2021 that would be OK. This is non negotiable, even the land route (involving Mexico) now requires them.
Note that if you are departing on BA via LHR you can get vouchers for your flights in most circumstances.

Yes, the general media story was that the USA had lifted requirements, and for the overwhelming majority of Brits, this is correct. The quote you provided would have been more useful if they had underlined the need for vaccination, and the USA isn't the only country to make this sort of requirement.

Bookings made on or after 00:01 on 08 June 2022 will no longer be covered under this policy and will be governed by the fare rules on the ticket and our standard conditions of carriage; however, should new major travel restrictions be introduced, specific Customer Guidelines will be issued

Moderator note
Folks, Some unhelpful side discussions that weren’t contributive to the OPs situation have attracted “bad post / trolling” reports from other forum users. These have been removed. FT Rule “If you can't be helpful or contribute substantive content to a thread, please refrain from posting” applies.

Oh - you poor Love! That's the sort of nightmare mistake anyone of us could have made. It's so muddlesome. I am sorry for you - I have no solution to your problem as the boys have got this covered already. I just hope that you are not too much out of pocket with anything like cars or hotels.
Would travel insurance cover this sort of eventuality? I personally rather doubt it.
