Call BA or travel agent to switch flight

Call BA or travel agent to switch flight
I have booked and flown the outbound on a LHR-XXX return, booked though corporate TA. If I want to change date and flight, ie from XXX to YYY, do I need to call TA to change, or can I call BA? I know which flight, and there appears to be availability. Is one preferable to the other?

I would call the TA. BA can handle it within 24 hours of travel but that's usually not the easiest option.
