Targeted I guess? Nothing on my platinum Amex account (or BA premium card)

Had the same. T&Cs state single flight purchase but I do wonder if Amex would know if its a car hire for example?

Have you ever looked at your Amex statement? The pdf one, rather than transaction listing in the app. It contains your ticket number, fare class, and itinerary right down to flight number. So yes, they’ll know if it’s for car hire.

Amex Offers is an advertising program. The Offer is from British Airways, not from American Express. BA decides which classes of cardholders they want to target, and they will know if the terms are fulfilled.
