Naples zone 3?

Hi allNow who am I to argue with BAs distance measuring team but by any calculation I make I think Naples airport is within the 1150 limit of Zone 2 for BA? Yet as I have discovered its in zone 3 according to BA and consequently cost us a chunk more avios on a recent booking. Clearly not something I can do much about but just wondering how they calculated the distance between LHR and NAP to make it a zone 3 airport? Its close but under if you ask me! Out of interest if nothing else I would like to know if anyone can shed any light on how these things are calculated? cheers

When I went in Jan 2020 I upgraded the return for 6500 Avios and no extra cash which was a cracking deal I thought. This would make it a Band 2. It was to Gatwick mind, Heathrow would be a tad further but not heard of BA differentiating within a city before.

Yes but booking a reward flight peak in CE for Aug its 22250 each way per person? Hence my point I thought it should be zone 2 pricing.

21500 Avios + £ 4.50
17250 Avios + £ 17.50

11750 Avios + £ 62.50
8750 Avios + £ 82.50

Thanks I can't believe I just fell for the school boy error or burning that many avios. You are all of course correct...Thanks all I have not booked a redemption without a 241 for ages and think was getting my miles vs cancellation all fees mixed up.

If unsure, always revert back to £17.50/£25.00 to compare

Indeed good advice cheers. Do you know if I ring up I can change to the higher price point Vs avios or will they need to cancel and rebook?

Cancel to FTV online and rebook? The cancelled FTV will be auto refunded back to you in next 30 days alongside cash

Just a FYI if you cancel online now it offers a voucher however when you scroll down, you have to tick the box to acknowledge that it is an actual cancellation and refund as its an Avios booking. There are no cancellation fees but it states 4 weeks for taxes refunds and avios return, if you ring up though they can re deposit Avios straight away.
