Where To Go?
I am looking for some last minute holiday options with BA. I would like to go somewhere:
Cheap to fly and visit
Warm (doesn't have to be hot)
Europe ish (3 ish hours each way)
Minimum Covid hassle (I am triple vaxed)
Maybe some good CE fairs
Maybe BA can gift me a Premier Card too. 😂🤣
Preferably flying from Heathrow, but Gatwick is doable. Heathrow is considerably easier for me to access.
My dates are:
Sunday 20 March until Wednesday 30 March. Inclusive. I return to work on the Thursday.
I'm asking for a lot I know! Any suggestions?
Appreciated.

Malta is also a possibility and considerably cheaper in CE if you can go for 10 days from the 19th Mar 22. Additionally, any holiday you book through this BA website would also qualify for the Double Tier points promotion, if that is something you are interested in?
Kind regards

If it’s cheap and warmish I’d agree Tenerife. Whilst BAs prices are crazy for your dates (although cheap if you’re happy to fly into LGW) you can fly easyJet from £50 or £100 at better times. Few quid more for luggage

If you are looking for some alternatives to the Canary Islands (which I certainly feel should be on the list), I would add
- Funchal maybe
- Azores - these are more complex than they look, in a good way
- Greek islands - there is bound to be one that's right for you
- South of France, Corsica maybe.
What would help a bit more is what sort of things would you ideally do on your break - is it the beach, is it getting a hire car and getting around, is it culture, is ti food?
Generally the restrictions in Europe are a lot less than they were a few months ago but I imagine there will be some aspects still in place for a few more months.

My advice would be to get onto AccuWeather or some other such site/app and start researching weather for the usual suspects - I'm thinking Spain and Portugal, South of France, Italy, Malta. They aren't going to necessarily be hot but reasonably warm and pleasant this time of year. From there it'll narrow down your searches on places to consider. Good luck with your research 👍

Having just done the same, my approach was to open Google flights in map view - with flight limitations such as price, time, stops, cabin,... To identify potential destinations. Followed by a quick weather check for the shortlisted places.
My data is already 5 days old, but you'll likely find that the Eastern Mediterranean is too cold at the moment (snow in Istanbul!). Club prices for South of Spain, Portugal, Madeira, Canaries are high (from ~£500pp rtn). Prices for Northern Portugal, Spain & all of France a little better, but temperatures only to about 15C. North Africa a bad combination of overpriced and still many Covid restrictions in place.

The BA holiday finder will help you with all the parameters you mention. But I would go for Tenerife, however, you are not likely to get "cheap" CE fares this close to departure. BA holidays link:

I know I can use the Holiday Finder to find a location, then do a normal Holiday booking, but it's so slow doing it this way.
Cheers.
