How is the crew time-out rules handled overseas where FAA regulations do not apply? (Foreign carrier at a foreign station?)

Well it would be CAA for a start...

[From the wife] BA152 is now scheduled for 17:00 UTC; approx. 65 passengers re-checked-in.

Or am I missing something?
Do we know anything to suggest that the airport team thought this at all, rather than trying to find a way of simply getting people to London? QR only had a limited number of premium seats available. I expect that there will have been at least some J passengers who would have been happy to have a Y seat right now, rather than potentially waiting 24 hours for "comparable transport conditions".

Admittedly I travel on my own or with my OH, but I'd be biting their hands off for a QR rebooking. But not for everyone and probably not great with kids in tow.

There are carve outs for things exactly like this scenario - they are pretty narrow but workable

BA152 has pushed back and should soon be airborne.

Edit, not sure it has pushed back even though it was visible on Flight Radar.

I am now confident BA152 has pushed back and the BA website confirms this. Bon voyage.

When an aircraft went tech in Luanda back when it was the most expensive city in the world, BA would put passengers in the Alvalade (4*) which was typically $400 a night. J and F pax would sometimes get the Talatona Convention Center hotel or Epic Sana (supposed 5* hotels) which were typically $550-600 although I think BA would have had good discount at Talatona as was crew hotel. Angolans would typically get sent home as would be originating their trips rather than on return sector

So I think there is some leeway.... Back then £200 would not get you much hotel wise..

and don’t give up on Maldives yet uncle T! Slightly more expensive than Carribean holidays but you can find good all inclusive holidays to Maldives. If you like the sea, snorkelling and good food and drink. Perfect relaxation on ‘one resort’ only islands. No cars, no hassle, just relax. … just book BA flights and get better accommodation prices by contacting Maldives holiday specialists. Unfortunately BA holiday can’t match the Maldives specialist’s prices. If you have the new 241 Amex voucher spare, it’ll be easier to book now and even cheaper!

It seems like at the end of every year we have one of these flights you just have to track, even though you have no one you know on the flight.

Nope. there were Maldivian engineers from the local airline Maldivian who fixed it up.
