Barcelona to LHR August schedule, ba407 only available via avios
We are booked to go to Barcelona in August and I tried to make a dummy booking to see how busy it is. Our return flight BA407 is only running from August but you can't book it via ba.com or the app if selecting a flight normally. It is bookable via a redemption flight though (which is what we did). I am now worried we are likely to get bumped if BA are not selling seats with only 5 weeks to go.
Is this common do people know and is it worth switching flights now to one that is available via ba.com?
Thanks

curious.
BA407 BCN-LHR seems to be only a saturday service. it is available for sale via flights.google.com and when i click thru it does take me to the payment page on ba.com
however the flight is not on sale if i start on ba.com because they only show one vueling flight and two ba flights, down from 4.
so i'd wager it is in the process of cancellation...because i still have yet to see services ADDED back on shorthauls in any significant level, but with the relaxation of amber countries now, i just cannot tell from my basic sleuthing.

Thanks both appreciate it.
I went through a Google flight booking and it does show 30 odd seats booked in economy. We are in CE which only has 4 rows and there are 4 seats free so looks like it I filling up which is re assuring.
I can only assume they want to punt people to the other flights first or are keeping this back for ba holidays etc?

Impossible to say without kniwing the date, and difficult to say even if we did know the date. But if you were looking for a general answer, BA tends to operate on the basis of maximising revenue, bearing in mind Avios generates revenue too; and that also generally the fear of being bumped is at least ten times the actual chance.

OK, so what happened there was that originally there was a later flight from BCN to London, leaving at 18:25, and prevously a further flight at 21:15. Neither had huge loads, they were consolidated on to your service, but consequently your flight, which is now the final flight of the day, looks quite busy unless more people deploy Buy With Confidence and change services. Or BA upscales the service to an A321. But there are cheaper services available the same day, including services with S and Q buickets, so BA can get away with charging higher fares. So you are not in the frame for being bumped, but you are in the frame for having a cancelled service, depending on how things go.

Might all be a moot point anyway with the number of cases currently in UK and Spain.
