HfP are claiming there’ll be a big announcement today, which will be good news for everybody.

Comments seem to suggest it’s BA related, but there is an embargo till 9:30 am.

There is indeed, which we are all sticking to. It will be on Business Traveller, and I imagine many other sites.

US border re-opening for British passport holders? Not sure that qualifies as good news everyone but seems a plausible big announcement.

Well it's not restricted to where you live, though I'm not sure I'd go so far as to say it's good news in gospel terms for everyone!

It’s not US related. That would be announced in the evening. It’s not about government rules, that would have leaked. It’s not status related, that wouldn’t be embargoed.

BA want to get people travelling and have preannounced fast tests. It’s about testing.

I wonder if it is to do with encouraging some more Avios redemptions (maybe reducing/removing "carrier imposed charges" or awarding TPs on redemption tickets)? It is not worth redeeming avios on some routes these days unless you need to go when cash prices are really high. Why spend 100,000-120,000 avios plus a 2-4-1 plus £1400 for a return to JFK in J with your partner when you can get the same flights and 4 nights in a decent hotel for £2,700 (plus a load of avios and TPs too)? For sure you get flexibility with Avios bookings but most of the time that is not an issue.
