Considerable effort was made to (1) find my last Twinings teabag and (2) achieve the right tepid temperature.

Absolutely. I am only sad I don't have any airline cutlery or crockery here myself!

World Traveller menu
Starter: Crisp gem lettuce, cherry tomato, olive
Main: Roast chicken in a creamy mushroom sauce, peas and sweetcorn, baby potatoes, roast cherry tomatoes and mushrooms
Dessert: Tesco Finest Millionaire's Chocolate Pot
Cheese and biscuits
Complimentary red wine from the cellar

Verdict: Tasted better than your average airline-meal, except for the miserable salad with no dressing. The chicken was very good, I did leave it in the oven for half an hour after cooking as I was still preparing the other J meal. The chicken didn't dry out as the foil kept moisture locked in (from the veggies). Everything was cooked in the foil container. Sauces and desserts were ready-made. For the airline tray I used a standard oven-size baking tray lined with a J cloth.

Sitting on the sofa eating with plastic cutlery and drinking from a plastic glass really felt like eating an airline meal. Yum.

That main dish without the peas and corn is a favourite of mine.
I'll be making that this week if I can get some mushrooms.

Strawb I hope I am not the only one in awe of your foil crimping skills. What are you like with a pasty?

What is a pasty?

Honestly, nothing too hard about throwing some ingredients into a container and putting it into the oven. Just remember to cover the peas and sweetcorn with the foil as you brown everything under the grill the last five minutes. I didn't make the sauce, potatoes or desserts so kind of cheated in a way. It was very enjoyable to make, serve and eat! This thread is fun! 👍

i really enjoy strawb's details like two olive halves or a half tomato in a salad with the requisite 6 leaves of lettuce!

Full marks, except: were you unable to obtain a Y cloth?

What is a pasty? Goodness, let's not open Pandora's box, before we know it the scone-brigade will be here.

All I know is that anyone that can crimp foil in that fashion should check their heritage.

Looks tasty, but far too much chicken for a WT meal, and the ends of the veg are not burnt. Here is a photo of my last real WT meal as a comparison:
