Jet2 flights to Spain turning back, is BA also affected?

Jet2 now has 7 flights enroute to Spain turning back and returning to base. Is BA affected by this?

they've cancelled all flights to Spain. I suspect BA won't be that far behind, or just a skeleton service

It appears the decision to cancel flights was Jet2’s alone.

Currently seeing flights depart from glasgow to the canaries. Could this be a mainland Spain ban only?

No, it's all of Spain, Balearics and Canaries.

It looks like the flights departing now will be going out empty to collect those booked to return today.

Looking at BA's schedules for today, well LCY was wiped out today, only a few flights operated, and they even cancelled domestic services - I presume that was mainly cost control. LGW has the Italian services cancelled, as you might expect but Vueling continues to fly to some destinations. But the Spanish locations are still on (or have already departed). LHR, again the Spanish services are currently OK, the Italians flights were cancelled previously. Then the other cancellations you can kind of explain - DMM, BOM, TLV - plus cost control cancellations to places like GOT and CDG. None of the Spanish destinations cancelled even for cost control reasons.

Because thousands of Madrid residents decided the best thing to do was head to their beach homes to wait it out, bringing the coronavirus with them. Shockingly irresponsible...

jet2’s canary flights seems to be carrying on to their destination. Guess they might have to bring people back.

Confirmation from Jet2's Twitter feed it's just Jet2 in response to the Spanish authorities closing everything, evidently they don't want to convey holiday passengers to a location where no holiday is going to be possible. I can't link to it directly but they're Jet2Tweets if anyone wants to see for themselves.

Exactly what happened in Italy 7 days ago. Hearing news of the upcoming quarantine in Milan and the Lombardy area, thousands of Milanese headed out for their holiday places on the Ligurian and Tuscan coast, some of them bringing the infection with them. To say there was widespread fury and condemnation is an understatement of epic proportions
