Which T flight to SJC departs from these days?

I was wondering if anyone can post which T flight to SJC departs at LHR. Is it 5B or 5C? Many thanks for your help

It could be either T5B or T5C, just depends on the day. Could also be a bussing gate from T5A. A 787 (747/772 maximum) can also be parked on A18. Stands 513-517 can be combined as they’re MCA stands, Multiple Choice Access, which then creates two gates A14 and A16 capable of taking aircraft up to the 747/772 (never seen this actually happen).

All the above is certainly the case and nothing can be taken for granted, but overall there is a high chance it is T5B to minimise moving the USA security team around too much.

I've boarded an A380 from A18. I realize this is rare, but it is the only A380 capable gate/stand at T5A, I believe.

Do you know when this was? I've got the T5 stand plan in front of me, the only stands capable of taking the A380 are 544-547 (B gates), 555-565 (C gates) and a number of remote stands.

yeah feels weird. I was under the impression it was a 747 max (Cat. E?) stand.

I was surprised as heck not having to go to T5C. It was a few years ago (~5, maybe more.) Hmmmm... I guess it's possible it was a 747 and I was surprised not having to go to T5B. If the stand chart says 747/777 max and no 380 for A18, I must be mis-remembering! Unless I can come up with proof, I'm going to assume my memory is faulty and it was a 747.

A different question, if there are A380 capable stands at T5B, why doesn't BA appear to use them for the big bird? (Or maybe they do, but I have always gone from T5C on the A380 - above instance not withstanding!)

Not only is 518 not A380 capable, the taxiways between T5A and T5B are not A380 strength either, so absolutely definitely no A380s from A18.

As shown on this Code F chart, I suppose?

OK - I'm convinced! Must have been a surprise 747 at A18 then - so much so my brain retconned it into an A380 at some point! Thanks all for the sanity checks!
