105 TPs needed to retain gold before March...

Hi all,

After a load of flying so far this year, I’m 105 TPs away from retaining gold which I would like to do. My year end is March 8th...but assume 2 week extension ‘rule’ still there?

Ideally I would like to do this in one trip, over a weekend (maybe taking 1 day off either the fri/mon) combo’d with ideally somewhere warm for 1/2 nights. Price point is a significant factor having been on holiday since Christmas and essentially broke!

Other than a 80 TP CE route out and economy back (might be fiddly to get 25 TP economy pricing) I’m a bit stuck although having managed to fully explore it all.

would love to hear any suggestions.

Are you a masochist? Roundtrip QR Y LHR-DOH-XXX (somewhere in Asia) in economy low fare bucket (K, M, L, V, S, N, Q) would get you 35 TPs on each segment, total 140.

LGW - MLA out 5 Mar back 7 Mar CE £360 work for you or is that too expensive? You'd need two nights hotel too.

ha! I’ve done 10 flights since Xmas and feeling a little flown out - whilst I like the spirit of this I think unlikely this time!

thats a decent price I think. I would like to think I could do it cheaper, but would definitely prefer to get the points with enjoyment of a mini trip v 2 Manchester returns etc!

I would prefer to only take 1 day off work though. Also I did a Malta last year (with ex partner!) so kind of would like somewhere different.

Does the 2 week extension certainly still work without any problem?

lhr - man - hel- LHR? Bolting a Tallinn onto HEL can offer bring the price down also.

thanks...this is pricing up high on the app - do I need to do it as multi city on the desktop website?

are we 100% sure about the 2 week extension being granted?

Never tried the two week extension but believe it does work.

as an alternative try LHR - IST Sat 29 Feb to Mon 2 Mar in CE. Pricing up at £340 , and could you sacrifice some Avios to reduce the price?

£349 and just one hotel night needed - for 120TP
Can get flat beds on LHR<>MAD if you play around with it enough

Marrakesh and the Canary Islands in CE will get you 160 TP and 20ºC+ right now. Athens & Istanbul are also 160 TP and probably the mid to high 'teens' temperature-wise. Sofia, Bucharest and Helsinki are also 160 TP, but will be significantly cooler.

Though a weekend in Tirana might be the cheapest option in Feb/Mar as it's pricing at just over £300 in CE for a Fri-Mon at the end of February, again for 160 TP. If you can go in the week you may even beat this. Tirana should also be about mid-teens ºC right now during the day.

Never been in a situation where it was pertinent, but there is abundant evidence on here and elsewhere that if you're close to a threshold (particularly as you're already a Gold) BA will credit Tier Points earned in the 2 weeks after your anniversary date to your previous Earning Year if you give them a call, though common sense suggests you should probably have that travel booked and on the system before your anniversary date.

A b2b LGW-VCE-LGW is £167 return on Saturday 08th Feb and nets 80TP , tag on a Bordeaux on the VCE-LGW sector for Sunday 09th and it tickets at £235 for a total of 120TP. I presume you live near London and can spend the night back at home on Saturday? Also play around with other LGW destinations and you may find it cheaper.
