UK - Bangkok

Im trying to get a decent reward flight to Bangkok. It keeps coming up with an error after i choose flights together eg . LON - DOH - BKK.

When i get reward prices for each leg it works no problem BUT its very expensive.

LON - DOH 110k avios + £850

DOH - BKK 248k avios + £423

Surely its not going to cost 359K avios and £1273 ?? Obv this is business class.

Any other ways we can get there with avios from UK ? Going 7,8,9 Oct returning 22,23,24 Oct.

Are you trying to fly on QR? Are you not seeing availability on the direct BA flight?

I dont understand your question. QR ?

When i do the full route on BA website it always brings up an error even though it lets me add the flights. Once i press to go further it shows an error and i have to start again

If you are struggling to search for a LHR-DOH-BKK reward you may be better off just searching for availability for each sector separately then calling to book it as one. However, I just tried searching LHR to BKK as a reward for 16 January and the results given included LHR-DOH on BA and QR connecting to DOH-BKK on QR. For both I could get all the way to the payment screen.

LHR-(BA)-DOH-(QR)-BKK in J one way
112000 Avios + £ 519.77
100800 Avios + £ 784.77
84000 Avios + £ 1,084.77
72800 Avios + £ 1,344.77
64400 Avios + £ 1,459.77
56000 Avios + £ 1,569.77
LHR-(QR)-DOH-(QR)-BKK in J one way
124000 Avios + £ 367.57
111600 Avios + £ 657.57
93000 Avios + £ 987.57
80600 Avios + £ 1,277.57
71300 Avios + £ 1,407.57
62000 Avios + £ 1,527.57

Crikey, stuff using Avios to book, spend a few Avios getting to OSL/ARN/GOT etc then the world’s your oyster getting to BKK for around £1,200 and a load of Tier Points, plus earning Avios not spending

£1,200 on Qatar

https://www.google.co.uk/flights/#fl...9*2.GBP.125799

£938 on SWISS (not OW but excellent fare)

Why are you flying via DOH when according to your post, you only want to get to BKK?

Given those very attractive cash fares* for a J return quoted by mikefly at post #7 , this is surely one of those cases where it would seem (ahem) pointless to use hundreds of thousands Avios and a load of taxes etc to boot

* think the SWISS promo is based on 2 travellers ....(?)

And if BA status/recognition is important to you, collecting the tier points from an Oslo or other Scandinavian departure makes sense!

If you want to use avios, consider whether you can construct a multi-partner award. LHR-BKK is just under 6,000 miles, so you should be able to get a return for 180,000 avios using flights similar to those you've found (though I am not an expert, so that may be wrong). You need to add a third one world airline in somewhere though. Malaysian/Iberia/Finnair?

Will have a look into the Oslo and similar flights. Makes sense rather than spending all those points. Seems pointless.
