G-EUPJ to take part in Jersey Air Display

Quick heads up to anyone who may be in Jersey this Thursday.

G-EUPJ - the BEA liveried A319 will be taking part in the Island's annual air display. Full report from the Jersey Evening Post here.

Whilst it will look impressive, it's a shame that its a) not with the Red Arrows and b) one of the retro-liveried 747s. A recreation of the RIAT display over St Aubin's Bay would have been stunning.

Quite a coup for the JAD team, and would seem to demonstrate the importance of JER from BA (they clearly know where all the money is!). Besides this and RIAT I don't think there are any other displays planned for these aircraft?

Small side note: The last commercial airliner to take part in the display (to my knowledge) was the bmi A320 which displayed with the reds in 2007 to celebrate their ill-fated JER-LHR service.

I hope the engine cowl has been replaced. I last saw it sporting a blue one!

Today (or tomorrow) would be a good day to do that. Saw it on BBC News at lunchtime, parked up in what looked like Hounslow boneyard.
