In BA’s position, a Voucher for future travel is better than returning Cash. I understand their perspective, but I shall bold out for MONEY.

Me too! Just called the gold line and only held for 3-4 mins using the 'change my booking' option. Very helpful and chatty person on the other end of the call, who admitted that it's been pretty well 'all go' recently. I also asked for a GUF2 extension, which he said should be okay, but if not 'call us back and we'll follow it up'!

The Google flights price shows as £300, which is pretty close to what I paid (last May!!), so no extra charge.

Managed 15 minutes on Wednesday. Had 2 bookings for the HGI one with BA Avios and the other with Hotels.com. Managed to get through to the BA Avios guys instantly about an hour ago, but it took them about 30 minutes on hold of talking to supervisors, the supplier { Expedia } and the hotel to actually confirm the HGI was closed and what to do about it as they had received no notification about it.

Been trying to contact Hotels.com every day since Wednesday. Every time you ring you get a "We are currently experiencing technical difficulties, please call back later", and every time you try to contact them via chat you get the "All our agents are busy"

Will try them every day for another week or so and if I don't get an answer guess I'll have to do a chargeback on the card.

Just got seat change notification from BA which was really indicating the flight having been shifted to LHR.

Since Albania is still on the FCO list (and probably will be for quite some time yet) and going on a do with lots of people is probably not the best of ideas at the moment, I have made the decision to cancel my booking.

Should others feel the same and want to give the Tirana do another go some time next year, I'm definitely up for that.

I have a Tirana booking 21/22 Feb, nominally as a LGW (and ex Jer) should anyone wish to attach themselves.

Should others wish to join would be welcome!

I got the email as well.

Having done very little research, I'm not clear why Albania isn't in the FCO's exempt from quarantine list. Their stats are similar to Croatia - and they took quick and firm measures in March (just before the original trip dates) to lock down Tirana. Still, with a second wave looming, I can't see that the restrictions are going to relax soon.

I won't let COVID-19 win though and I'm more determined now to get to Tirana at some point!

I'm getting "4 years ago" type memories on my phone from the SOF do, it's bringing up quite a bit of nostalgia! Oh how little we knew about what was going to happen to travel and our freedom of movement!

Happy Friday everyone!

I missed the 'Do' but a run to SOF recently was my first ride back on the horse after covid.
