In theory, yes, but as Thomas Cook seems to be selling the airline to generate cash, it would seem to be odd to do so on a basis that then allows Thomas Cook to damage the airline's profitability in this way. That would surely reduce the price that Thomas Cook would get? I would have thought that one way for Thomas Cook to support the airline's value upon sale would be to promise to keep buying from TCX the capacity that Thomas Cook will have to buy from someone anyway. All this would rather suggest that getting slots from TCX when it's sold is an unlikely prospect.

A large % of Cook pax are on Cook holidays. This is unattractive to both buyers of the airline and the remaining holiday company which may lose cheap capacity or capacity in the places it wants to be.
