Not sure if it counts if you weren't there, but looks like an FTer might have been, to note the champagne, food and seat choice!

Climate issues aside, which are not related to Champagne or socialism. My view is that it is quite ironic to claim to be lady of the people (Emma Thompson is an open supporter of JC's Labour Party) having jetted in from Los Angeles (presumably also in F or J) to take part in the protest and then to head of back to New York a week or so later in F, which 99% of the people at said protest couldn't dream of being able to do. Unless of course, she was redeeming Avios, a GUF1 or 241 voucher or had been offered an Irresistible POUG or AUP on both occasions, then she can be let off (Just to keep this response FT).

As for reporting standards - the article says that the flight was operated by a 777-200 and pictures an A380 labelled as 'The plane pictured above is the same model which Emma Thompson has been pictured on'.

I think it matters if you spout Climate Change at others, and protest as if you have a greater concern than others. The associated emissions from F are much greater than from Y, if you accept that another 9 (?) people could have traveled in that space with you for much the same level of emissions.

it was slightly awkward at DXB when those of us from the lounge were escorted to the gate and held in the pen standing up waiting to board. I ended up right next to him and there were about 200 seated people all pointing him out. I hope he’s upgraded his rather cheap looking Samsonite carry-on since...which to keep on topic was sporting a grey 2001-2003 era Concorde baggage tag.

I remember some years ago he sat behind us in business class with his minder on a SAS flight from CPH to LHR. He tried to look casual with his dark glasses in the hope he wouldn't be recognised but it didn't work. I think this was before he was 'Sir Cliff'.

I had no idea about these climate protesters, until Emma appeared in the news.
I'd say she has got them a ton of publicity by travelling in F, and hence potentially done more good than harm for the environment

I had no idea there were even any issues regarding climate change until Emma Thompson flew first class from LA to London and made the headlines.
