I believe Robert Snith was nicknamed Fat Bob by Siouxsie Sioux when he played guitar in the new wave / goth band Siouxsie & The Banshees for a short while in the early 80s - Bob is short for Robert, and Robert's weight always seems to fluctuate quite a lot, and he was likely in a more rotund phase when he played with the Banshees

Brian May on the 178 to Heathrow today - noticed him walking alongside us after passport gates and he joined the masses to hang out by the belt and wait for (somewhat delayed) suitcases. Was so low key and relaxed that very few people even realised who they were standing next to.
