Eastern Airways still does this. Flew on them on SOU–LBA and back only a couple of weeks back and they come round with said basket – which also includes ear plugs despite the noise actually not being too bad for a turboprop on the Saab 2000. They also still serve you a free snack and drink on board. Like travelling back in time. :-)

We still have one in Jersey ... but then we're generally behind the times in many areas!

British Airways paper timetables. Used to raid GT and then BA offices end of March and end of October to get the new timetable editions. Used to spend hours reading all schedules and comparing them with the previous years. Those were times.

Yes, after being in Germany all week, flying home to BHX in CE on the B737-200 and being served a proper cup of tea from a teapot was lovely! (Mid nineties)

Euro network from BHX
B757 on European routes from LHR
Franchise carriers Deutsche BA and Maersk Air. Mrs B loved Maersk Air.

The Eurohub at BHX. I remember flying BHX-CDG on an A319 in the early 2000s.

Sadly I am old enough although I do still have my own teeth.

In fact do remember (albeit not sure whether it was BA) checking in where seat selection was a template on a bit of card from which stickers were peeled. Might have been British Airtours actually.

Separated into smoking and non smoking of course, another blast from the past.

Paying expensive fares on short haul services to impress the birds. If only low cost airlines had been around back in those days.

These were ubiquitous. One of my constant early memories of flying.

The proper BIG box of chocolates in First around a decade ago - not what they serve now...

Getting a breath freshener spray in the Club washbag in the 90s - tasted sooooo nice

BA branded services to BEB and BRR.

BA Miles with far better redemption rates. 100k Club return to the USA, wasn’t it?

A management team which truly wanted BA to be the worlds favourite airline, not joining the race to the bottom...

A twice daily LCY-JFK service.

Mini-cheddars in the Exec Club lounges.

The Daily Mail!

Domestic seats in Y with enough leg room for somebody taller than a 8-year old child.

And the Mezzanine level in the old T1 Exec Club lounge.

The days before Mixed Fleet serving in premium cabins (sorry).....
