Everyone starts somewhere, there is a glossary here: BA Forum Glossary

POUG - Proactive Online Upgrade, offered in MMB (Manage My Booking) ahead of time
AUP - Airport Upgrade, purchased at.....well, you can probably guess

I would also recommend Plane Food, lovely British fare with an international twist.

T5 is one of the best airports in terms of food options, I would definitely avoid paying for entry in a lounge just for the food...
