Would Helsinki and Kiev be doable range wise?

G-LCYZ is already in the fleet. G-CFEx couldn't be used because there is only one unused registration in that sequence: G-CFEP. But the G-LCZx sequence is completely clear.

As always, it's interesting to have discovered which flight deck rumours proved to have been correct and incorrect!

G-LCYA is registered to a private jet.
B and C were registered to BA RJ aircraft, so they may be transferable.

would be interesting to see maybe OTP-LCY, they have many p2p pax on this route and the flights from here to LHR (both BA and ROT) are fully booked all the time, extra capacity and serving LCY will be great for p2p pax.

Do you think that could be anything to do with the surprising surge in visitors to PHX? How do you know they have so many point-to-point pax?

IIRC, UK registrations are not re-used. And AIUI, a registration can't be re-used once it has been reserved, even if it is not taken up. This can be seen in the G-GATx sequence, in which G-GATO was reserved by BA for the aircraft that was later rejected.

Completely agree.

Are all stands now E190 compatible or are there still some that can only handle shorter aircraft?

I’m sure they’ve worked it out, but both the tarmac & the terminal are already creaking at the seams and not just in the business peak times.

Cityjet threw the towel in a year or more ago in terms of substantive LCY ops. Yesterday’s announcement was effectively rebranding the last remaining service in EI colours, so almost no impact on slots (-1 daily service?).

ARN might not be a bad shout considering the 767s are being retired and the impact this will have on the number of seats on LON-STO (although the 767s were rumoured to be strong on cargo).

Adding some more domestic capacity into LCY could free up some LHR slots, NCL or MAN?

Except that MAN has a very high %age of people connecting on to other services. NCL slightly less so, but still high - I suspect that the lack of connecting options at LCY would put off some from those airports? NCL has been tried some time ago - by Eastern if I remember correctly, but they couldn't make it work.

You are correct to an extent, but it's extremely quiet there during off-peak hours (to the extent that the aircraft go off on little jollys at the weekends!) so there's definitely room to add more flights without it becoming unworkable.

That's the curfew, though, surely? You should see LCY just before it starts and just after it ends.

LHR needs LH aircraft, not slots.
