I have a booking for November in Y. I'd booked the late outbound due to the timing, even though it was the 777. Very pleased to see that it's now changed to an A380. However, both inbound options are basically at the same time, so I booked the A380, which has now changed to a 777. Do you think it's worth calling and asking to swap to the A380?

I really try and avoid the 777 at all costs in any cabin especially for overnight flights as I find it to be the worst aircraft for dehydrating you.

Are there any price implications regarding the sales of these flights (cash-ticket)?
For ex-EU passengers, BA31 is used to be cheaper than BA27, and BA31 ex LHR is 3 hours earlier.
However, if BA27 has more capacity, are there any impacts to the price of BA31 and BA27?
Anyways, BA28 and BA32, the impact is not that great as the time difference is just 30 minutes ex HKG
Besides, the A380 gates in HKG are very busy, only 15, 23, 60, 62, 64, 66, 212, 216 can serve A380.
At similar slots, LH, EK and other airlines' A380s are landing at HKG as well. Nowadays LH EK BA A380s park at 60, 62, 64, 66 gates, sometimes BA's A380 does park at 23.
Do you think there is a chance for BA A380 to park at 212 or 216 ?

Hmm, I just called and was told that they'd escalated it to the "decision makers", who apparently haven't yet decided if they will allow changes for free. But when they did something similar for SIN earlier in the year, they apparently decided to allow free swaps to the other aircraft type.
I'll call again in a few days...

The changes go onto 14th Feb 2019 on the BA 32 as my 2 adult children and I have been moved to a 777 from a A380 which is a pain as we prefer the A380 but we are in transit from DPS on a BA Holiday so not sure if changing to the later flight will be an option.

ARRH BA Equipement Changes
RANT!!!!
Booked LHR - HKG - LHR a while ago to travel in November and deliberately booked the two flights so we were going to travel on the A380...
Today flights have been change to 777 200/300 so not the same comfort, not the same quiet aircraft... probably not the same entertainment system
Now really disappointed... I know first world problem but I am sure some of you guys will understand why it matters.
only reply from BA we can help you assign new seats...
only place with aisle access last row...

Unceremoniously dumped to the back of CW facing the toilets in the 777.... I've moved to a front aisle as the timings don't work if I switch. I guess I'll survive. Might GUF it though, does anyone know if I can GUF the BA long haul legs on an ex AMS where there's one CX leg in the itinerary? I rather fear not but it would otherwise be an option.
