747 Upgraded Aircraft

Hi

So I have just booked 2 flights for next year using the Avious half miles deal. both are on 747's. According to the seating plan it appears that one is what seat Guru would call V2 and the other V3. How can you tell whether either of these is likely to be one of the recently updated interiors?

Thanks

If there are 86 Biz class seats, these are the 18 Super Hi-J, as they are referred to on FT, 747's that were refurbed. However there are now a few (maybe 3 in total) 747s with 52 J seats that are getting a super clean. More (roughly 9) in the autumn will get refurbed with new IFE. So come next year you've got more chance being on an updated 747 overall.

I assume you're in Economy from the Half Avios note. Check your seat map against :

British Airways B747-400 14F/52J/36W/235Y Seat Map

or

British Airways B747-400 14F/86J/30W/145Y Seat Map

Don't rely on Seat Guru! Second aircraft above is definitely upgraded IFE and new seat coverings etc

Second aircraft is highly unlikely at the current pace, have a look over the following thread:

So from those maps I am going out on the first one and returning on the second one. What chance is there the first one will be upgraded by March?

I couldn't say chances... you also can't guarantee there won't be aircraft changes before then. Which route are you on ?
