Stopover and luggage

Good day to you all
Sorry if it's a stupid question, but if I book for example LUX-LHR-KUL with three days between the flights, can I do LUX-LHR HBO and check bag for second flight or do they expect me to check it already in LUX?
Thank you in advance

The one thing that can't be done is checking in a bag with a 3 day hold in LHR. 24 hours is the maximum.
