Talking Email from BA - “Excited yet? Let's explore your trip to Malta”

I’ve received an email from BA about an upcoming trip, asking if I am excited yet. I wonder what makes BA pick out this particular trip which is a whole 8 months away.

I have 4 trips involving 11 flights before I go to Malta.

But yes, I am excited about all of them.

Hi, WSM! I fail to comprehend their messaging algorithms. We’re only 5 months away from our next MLA, and (yes) we are excited ... but not a word from BA. There were times when I thought it might be marketing add-on activities, or sponsored by <destination> Tourism Board.

Anyway, more excited by AA DUB-PHX in a few weeks, but nothing from AA either

I got one of these for a flight to Madrid a few weeks ago .

The flight is in June, and I was confused because I was in NYC at the time, and was flying the next day!!! I thought I had made a date error while booking!

Every time I get my ne of these I do a little check in case it's the equipment change that allows me to nab 1C in the OTP party plane from right under Madfish's nose.

Well not his nose strictly speaking but you get the idea.

I got one of these for a trip to Berlin and asking if I needed a hotel.

It's a day trip. I've set up a filter to deal with them in future!

If you're not the excitable type you can go into your BAEC Profile and opt out of receiving marketing communications from BA and partners.

Perhaps they're banking on unintended consequences... I've got nothing booked at the moment, but reading this thread has me fancying a trip to Malta.

How many quid that my next ads both here and on other social media are asking me if I've booked my trip to Malta yet?
