BTW B2B at MAD is easy ! I did it when they were using the 787-9 in J.
De-plane, walk until you see "Transit", through a small security check (Officer quizzically looked at me!) and then back to the gate.

Booked. I did the 788/A380 training run years ago in a triangle. Out to Stockholm. Overnight then early morning Air Berlin to Frankfurt via Berlin and then home on the A380. Decided to stay a night in Madrid as it's one of my favourite places.

I got asked “why?” And the best I could say on the spur of the moment was “no reason, is there a problem?” The man had a very brief chat with his colleague, handed me my boarding pass back with a shrug & said “Gracias!”

Do you get club world service or is it just club Europe? In terms of meals and beverages. Just wondering how real they make the training for the crew.
Not sure I can convince mrs jday of the £611 cost

CE. There are many days cheaper than that. I can see €170 for MAD-LHR and €202 the other way seems to be cheapest. You could also go J one way and come back Y but take a WTP seat? Then much cheaper. Also Avios availability also quite good on certain days.

I have heard the A350 will be capped at A320/321 (not sure which) loads to allow for swaps without issue. So I would imagine it won’t be full of cargo either, the 777 flight remains for that.
Of course could all change
