If you are concerned why not swap on to a BA flight so you are still in CE and get your 40 TPs?

If the EI swap occurs, I shall look to doing exactly that.

fortunately it's just a positioning JER-UK-DUB before the next day's departure to the USA, so there should be plenty of options open to us.
