Many thanks for that. I'll be connecting from EDI so upstairs it is

Ah, this changed somewhat in the last few weeks of 2017, and though I did put a post about it at the time, that is now buried in the archived thread!

The AUP process has been streamlined and can now be done in all lounges by all agents. Ideally you need a swipeable credit card though if the strip is bust they can type in the numbers. They still call FMU twice at LHR (due to T5 Readytofly issues) but not at other airports, I would just head for the (um) "most experienced" looking agent whether in the First Wing, in the Flounge customer service desk to the left as you enter from the First Wing or indeed at the public desks on departure level in A, B or C. There is now no longer any need to go to a ticketing agent, which often meant going up to Galleries Club South if airside. And for any shy CCR lurkers, should such a thing exist, the CCR desk by the Board Room can also fully complete the transaction. For similar reasons, domestic check-in desks in the UK can also do this even though the staff are not BA. It's just LCY I think which is an outlier (someone please correct me or PM me if that has changed) and where getting AUP is difficult.

And congratulations on joining the ranks of BA Gold BertieBadger. Shame there isn't a black and white AA exp-plat card in your case.

Many thanks for the helpful info c-w-s, I'll maybe try a Flounge agent first then, using your er, delicate? description to identify the best bet

And thanks for the welcome to the massed ranks of Gold. I'm loving the bonus avios! And.... while this may be symptomatic of spending too much time here, idly wondering if GGL is possible

Actually, on reflection I think I recall the post, perhaps my memory fails me but I think there was an observation on the fact that some of the less experienced agents were doing it in a way that resulted in the original cabin TPs rather than the upgraded ones? I appreciate I can always get them credited afterwards, but so far all my AUPs have posted as expected

Not wishing to take this thread OT, so mods please delete/move as needed.

Which is why I suggested you indeed find an "experienced" agent to ensure it is done properly. That said, I think they must have ironed out many of the wrinkles by now, it's generally works a lot better than it used to do. The last time I had to correct something - on a large sample size - was a Same Day Change, AUP and flight cancellation all in one, but at that point I think I can understand an IT failure.

Thank you c-w-s, flying out on Thursday, I'll report back to this thread even if only to add a data point.

Its YUL so just about the shortest TATL you can do, but I've been working my way up the cabins and it's not easy to go the other way

AUP LHR-EDI £80 on HBO fare this morning, and apparently would have been £66 on Plus fare. Was £79 and £69 respectively for many months until early-Jan, so looks like some changes are happening.

AppUp / OLCI offer has been £69 recently on Plus.

LHR-ARN for 129 GBP today.

First entry in Wiki for this flight for 2018!

Wiki is updated.

I declined the offer, though.

ARN-LHR ET to CE 1595 SEK

Whay the crap!!????

They further clarified that they cater the plane in LHR and don’t account for upgrades so that crazy price does NOT include food.

According to recent reports, and my own experience, you should get £10 of ET BoB if no spare meals in CE.

ex-BRU?

Has anyone achieved an AUP ex-BRU?

Is it even feasible to get one there - are the staff clued up enough?

Hmmm, EDI-LHR £108 from HBO fare. That's quite an uplift from the £79 that it has been for a good few months. Declined.

Has any one had an AUP offer from ET to CE from LHR-KEF (or KEF-LHR)? Had a quick scan and didn't see anything.
