I am unsure if pilfering is the right term, but I have left the Flounge with a man to whom I am not married and who was with British Airways. You can keep all your tedious cans of Tonic Water, your gaudy Ginger Ale, your calorific gourmandises, your bags of crisps and greasy bacon. This was a walking talking Living Doll. No, it was not Phil the Flyer as he frequents Bling Air, it was way too young to be HIDDY or Uncle T. His chat-up llne was " A Beautiful Lady like you deserves a glass of Champagne". I duly looked behind me, realised that he was addressing me, and wondered if his guide dog had slipped his leash. He could have passed for a young George Clooney. He was a steal, so I pilfered him.
He escorted me to the aircraft door, he kissed me, and left me to go the back where his seat was allocated. I went to the pointy part where I belong. It was a short lived affair but yes the earth moved - or was that the optical illusion of the jetway retracting
No, I did not return him with apologies nor did I seek compensation. I did what any FTer worth their salt would do I went and drank Champagne.
The sequel - Him Indoors met me on landing and my ill-gotten goods was met by his boyfriend.

Oh, the excitement some people get from being in Lounges! And what interesting behaviours that environment then generates! A bag or seven of crisps, illicit cans of fizzy cr#₽ or a random dark stranger! Wow, I realise how dull and boring I have become.
Find a comfy chair, preferably with a view and not too close to other people. Grab a coffee or hot chocolate, and a slice of cake ... or possibly bacon, black pudding and toast, according to the time of day. Read Kindle, wait for boarding call. Maybe a glass of fizzy wine.
I get fed and watered on the aircraft, and on the shorter legs maybe decline any offering at all. “Oh, OK, just a Vodka and Tonic, then.” Curious that, because I don’t normally drink Vodka ... only on aircraft! [There may be a PhD for someone there, if they’re interested]
One reason I’m not a walking balloon is that I can actually survive for 12 hours without either food or alcohol. I find my nightly diet quite effective, augmented by not eating cr@₽ all the time I’m awake.
As to the morality issue, we must all determine our own standards, and then let them be judged by others. Feel free to judge me.

As for pinching stuff from the lounges. I probably have but I suspect it was something I took to the table and didn't have time to eat rather than it being a premeditated action.

I obviously suffer from the age card on this occasion, laddie. But I like to think I’m still adequately smooth to raise a coy smile from the lady ... unless of course that means she’s struggling to contain her laughter.

I always refill my small bottle of sparkling water at any lounge and drink it during my trip. Even if small bottles are offered I will instead refill my small one instead as I object to excessive use of disposable plastic. I’ll also occasionally take a paper if numbers of copies seem to suggest that the lounge owners expect people to take them (ie not if it’s only a few copies) and again read onboard.
im generally sympathetic with the rule of thumb ‘if it’s not something I’d use during my trip I won’t take it but I will take the trip as a unified event and can take a paper from the lounge to read on the plane in the same way I’ll take the onboard toothbrush to brush my teeth in the next lounge before my connection.
I do not tend to expect others to apply my own idiosyncratic moral standards so if others have a different conception so be it.

Definitely not me..I'm far too rough and ready to come out with such a smarmy chat up line as that PUCCI.....''You look as if you could do with a swally hen'' is more my style.

Uncle T inducing coy smiles is more credible. Just.

I also snaffled f+b from GF last Thursday, but only as seated WTP on a longhaul 12hours flight
though with BoB if on a Y to Europe I may grab a water or soda at GF
As normally seated SH/LH at front of the bus I rarely need grab lounge f+b to go.
I'd never take more than I can easily consume on my flight.
Reports of fliers decanting a whole new JW Blue bottle as their takeaway is where someone goes too far.

Yep... I freely admit to taking a can of Tribute and maybe make a small cheese sandwich. As a) BA often run out in the Club Kitchen as referenced above b) Don't even stock things like Tribute onboard anymore so why should i have to drink Stella etc.
I made the comment before that BA advertises lots of things they don't provide on-board so they are taking cash from me and not delivering (up to you whether you call that theft etc). Therefore, it is simpler to just even things up by taking what they should provide but don't in the lounge and everyone is happy and no one losses.

The fact they haven't enforced it would imply that it either costs more to put up signs than the "stolen" food costs, or they don't mind. So not a big deal. That's how I see it, anyway. However, I've never actually seen anyone take more than a bag of crisps and/or a single can of drink. I've not witnessed those "filled their bag up with cans of beer and emptied all the salad into a tupperware box" moments. If caught, they could always have their lounge access / status revoked I guess.

I usually eat so much in the lounge that I do not even think of food to take on board! Maybe a coke or two to quench the thirst on the European flights as mentioned above, if BA plays tough with BOB, I play tough in return !
