At LHR now and currently T-2

I can see from EF that FLUB is indeed open but we have our same seats.

Is it worth asking? And if it is, would it be best to ask at the lounge, on board or on at the gate?

I wonder if the 4 seats currently taken in FLUB are staff travelers or family/friends.

Asked at the B lounge. Really helpful agent who called through for me

They offered to FLUB myself and my wife but not the rest of the gang, which comprises a silver and 3 blues.

We opted to stay together in club with a promise they would do what they can before boarding but would depend on if there are any AUPs.

Not sure how this would affect things unless it was a gold or silver doing an AUP from WTP.

We will keep our fingers crossed but am left my happy with our assignments

At the gate they said the first cabin isnt staffed. And wont be opened for passengers.

I assume the 5 already in there are staff.

Intriguing. Been following this with interest. I wonder what the takeaway (if any) is here...? What would have happened if you had accepted the offer for 2 of you made by agent in the lounge? My assumption would be that you would have been booted back to Club with new (potentially worse) seat assignments. All of which would confirm the old tried and tested "do nothing" approach.

That would be my assumption as well, and it nearly happened to me (only once though), where having booked a good 777 seat from way back, I was Flubbed to A1, some passengers were late on the connection, Flub not needed, My seat was now occupied by an upgraded WTP traveller (Bronze!) and so I was at one point destined to a middle middle seat in CW. The IFM spotted this and headed me off back to A1 before I could say anything.

No real reason why FLUB didnt happen.

There were 5 in F and one spare seat in J.

We had a great flight other than finding one bag didnt make it. Not a huge issue.

I guess the reason is that it wasn't needed. They'll only move the minimum amount of people forward. (Although here they seem to have moved one more than necessary, perhaps not to split a party of 2). Was there actually passsenger service in F cabin as was said at the gate? Or was it just staff seated there?

Yes!!!!!!

didnt look like first would open on our flight today. Went to scan boarding pass and got seek assistance. All three of us (silver + 2 bronze) now in row 4😎😎😎

very chuffed wife

two other families upgraded as well. Speaking with crew, world traveller plus was oversold so bumped people to club and hence needed some of the 14 FC seats.

crew was great on this flight, friendly and engaging.

BA205 to Orlando

Todays BA 205 LHR-MCO - 5 seats already occupied in Flub. Looks like a full flight in all cabins.

Atleast FLUB in TG means that you could select f at the time of booking, no gambling
